Everyday objects have such a profound influence towards the 'atmospheres' of our daily environments,
but often receive little attention past their aesthetic form or applied function. In search of atmosphere takes the opportunity  to prompt a conscious understanding of atmosphere and its inherent values through a considered interaction with light.

The outcome is a functional table lamp, in which the intensity of the light is determined by the proximity of the control vessel, the closer, the brighter. Flip the vessel and the light is disengaged. Unlike an on-off switch, this physical interaction asks the user to consider how their actions may influence the atmosphere of their surrounding space. As we become more aware of our daily environments,
we begin to appreciate the opportunities that they afford.
